An eminently bingeable 8 episode series on ABC Iview
What a delight is this series set in a fictional psychiatric treatment centre set in the Blue Mountains of NSW, with decidedly non fictional imagery and breathtaking captures of the location.
Appropriately, the landscape is a salient facet of the series: visually stunning, an aptly dramatic backdrop to the series narrative; and a discrete and subtle underlying character in its own right.
The permeable borders between the lunatics and those in charge of the asylum here are delightful, honest and refreshingly challenging, and this is not the only perceptible border.
You will see some very well known Aussie actors (a special reference here to the awesome Aussie actors Mandy McElhanney and Dan Wyllie, just to name a couple, in very different types of roles.) One of the male leads is a captivating actor from the BBC offering of ‘The Split,’ Rudi Dharmalingam.
