Moving to a much cooler clime triggered the need for truly warmer garments – and this of course means WOOL!  Preferably Aussie wool from my point of view, so Cleckheaton was a natural choice.  Nothing like pressure to start and complete a garment before it becomes a UFO, and I had left Mildura with virtually NO winter wardrobe!  Here is the completed project and I love it!  Here are the deets for the knitting nerds:

• yarn used: Cleckheaton Country Naturals 8 ply (DK or double knit).  Yarn content 85% Australian wool, 10% acrylic, 5% viscose, made in Australia.  Colour 1813 (pale blue) with
• pattern from Patons book 301
• needle size 5mm – I normally use 4mm for 8 ply yarn, but I wanted this garment to be soft and draped, and it worked!
• yarn used for size – 14 x 50g balls.  Recommended quantity for size was 19 but as I used 5mm needles as opposed to 3.75, fewer balls were required.
• I am tall about a size 14 to 16 Aussie.  I made the largest size as I like things loose.  After the first hand wash the only change I would have made in construction in hindsight would be to make sleeves 3-4 cm shorter, as the garment did relax into shape.
