Well, my SM Darlings, what divine weather we had for our High Tea and Garden Party, hosted in style by Baroness Busy!
On arrival we were greeted with champagne and strawberries, and it just got better from there! BB loves to entertain, and supplied us with elegant savouries and sweets, mostly prepared in her own kitchen. Her recent experience of High Tea at the grand old Hotel Windsor, in Melbourne, also inspired the salmon sandwiches, and the combination of apple, celery and caraway seed sandwiches, which were delicious!
Another popular favourite was the chocolate mousse with, of all things, a pleasant little surprise of Nutella at the end: what a treat!
Conversation starter for the day was to bring along a favourite piece of china: cup, mug or teapot, that had a special significance or memory attached to it, and some lovely stories were heard as a result!
The gorgeous weather (nearly 27 degrees) made it very pleasant to sit outside in the Baroness’s lovely garden, and all agreed that it was a very successful day!
Our birthday nobles for the month were our hostess, Baroness Busy (Marianne), the Duchess of Hemingsly, (Suzy) who celebrated a significant 70th; and Founding Queen Neni (Jenny), who was not able to be with us today.
A big thanks to Duchess of Funeraria for this album, and so quickly! There will be another collection of fab pics from Princess Shutterbug also, including a group shot!
Our Tuesday coffee morning will be the 31st of May, at Ristretto in Lime Avenue, near the Post Office. Apparently they do very nice burgers, and it seems to be a popular choice – more on this later!
