Well my Darlings, I hope you have survived Christmas, and I wish you all a wonderful New Year 2017 Celebration. You will see I have updated our banner with one of my favourite pics, overlaid with my own sentiment, “Red Hattitude is a state of mind!”
To me, Red Hats is not ‘fashion advice’ but the IDEA that as ‘older women’ we refuse to be downgraded or INVISIBLE because we no longer fit the stereotype reinforced by advertising and popular media.
My view is that, as older women, we are so much more interesting and powerful because of our life experience, and our lack of need to fit into the boundaries of the stereotypical woman.
I am continually delighted and amazed by the discoveries and lessons I encounter by knowing the women in this group, and I am grateful, and feel enriched by knowing you all!
For the remainder of my ‘Queenship’, until July 2017, I proclaim a FREE CHOICE OF COLOUR at our gatherings (that is, not restricted to red and purple), and look forward to seeing you all ‘GLOW!’ Let this photo be an inspiration to you all!
